The Power Of Proper Language.

Language is a vital part of human connection. It allows us to share ideas, thoughts and feelings.

What makes verbal communication a beautiful thing is that the human race is the only species that possesses it and can wield it in a way to convey the most abstract concepts.

A good vocabulary is a superpower because it allows you to tell amazing stories, build realms and create the most magnificent and terrifying characters.

“The limits of my language mean the limits of my world.”

Having a slightly higher vocabulary than your peers makes you stand out because you are more eloquent and charismatic. You have a wider range of words in your arsenal to use while conversing with people and in some cases women.

You stand a better chance of wooing them with beautiful speech than slang.

“Avoid using the word ‘very’ because it’s lazy. A man is not very tired, he is exhausted. Don’t use very sad, use morose. Language was invented for one reason, boys–to woo women– and, in that endeavour, laziness will not do."

Obviously, that is not the sole purpose of language but he makes the point that using language correctly is always better than using slang and will get you further in life.

I would go so far as to say that the correct use of language could determine whether you get the job or date or not.

How do I grow my vocabulary?

Reading. It is the best way to grow our vocabulary.

But it does not stop there. Just reading and learning new words is not enough to make us more eloquent, we have to use them in our everyday communication.

I suggest making notes on your phone and revise them often so that when you are in a situation where you can use your new word you are able to.

Use it or lose it.

I google new words that I encounter in my reading and if I like them I will make a note of them.

Reading aloud also helps you play with the melody and tempo of your voice.

Mastering the melody and tempo will make people want to listen to you because tonality gives more meaning to your words. Speaking with passion and emotion will make you a more captivating speaker.

Another good way to become more articulate and eloquent is to write.

Write down your thoughts, beliefs and desires. Anything and everything. This helps you concisely convey your beliefs and ideas verbally because you have organised your thoughts.

Writing is beneficial because it improves memory, self-expression and aids in deep and critical thinking. To name a few.

It also helps to write down the words that you use most often and look for words that represent the same thing and then use those new words in context and just like that you are improving your vocabulary.

Why is this important?

In today’s Western culture, it has become acceptable to use slang, especially in my generation. Strangely, they think it is attractive and I am annoyed by that. Because it is now cool or trendy to use incorrect language they make our generation look and sound unintelligent.

I say this is important for men because we have to work for everything in life and if we have the advantage of being articulate, it will set us above the rest.

Whether it is the job or the woman we want, the chances are higher that we will get those things if we are just a little more eloquent.

It gives us the confidence to know that we can say what we want to say in the best way possible.

Using proper language helps people see us as a leader because we have the right words to say at the right time and can talk to anyone.

This means having the ability to express yourself clearly and concisely, in both speech and writing is beneficial to you and those around you. Being articulate has numerous benefits, including improved relationships, networking opportunities, and capabilities and enhanced problem-solving skills.

Conclusion.

“Arm yourself with words, be precise in your language and say what you mean and read great men and women” – Dr Jordan B. Peterson.

I agree with him on this. The most dangerous people are the ones who are clear and concise in their speech and writing.

That is why so many young men relate to rappers because they are extremely articulate and can put into words what others feel like the vexation, frustration and sorrow that young men experience.

All of these emotions are expressed very clearly and put together with a beat and melody, thus making them gripping, it almost feels like it gives them more meaning.

This is why using proper language is crucial as a man. It demands respect and shows intellect.
